India EOR Cost Calculator

See what the role costs — and what your employee actually earns

Most offshore quotes give you one bundled number and keep the wage behind it to themselves. This calculator shows both halves, because you set the wage.

What this calculator shows

Employing a mid-level software engineer in India through Bumsa's Employer of Record service costs about $2,577 CAD a month on this calculator's default settings. That figure is made up of a ₹1,00,000 monthly wage paid to the employee — roughly $1,473 CAD — and a ₹75,000 markup covering EPF, ESI, professional tax, gratuity, insurance, HR, compliance, workspace and Bumsa's fee.

Bumsa prices Employer of Record engagements as a single multiple of the employee's wage, typically 1.75×, applied to a wage the client sets rather than one the provider decides. The client therefore always knows what their employee actually earns, and can change it whenever they choose.

On those same default settings, that engineer costs $30,928 CAD a year, against $128,100 CAD to employ the same role at home once employer burden is included — a saving of roughly 76%. Because the client sets the wage, giving that employee a 10% raise costs about $258 CAD more per month, and the total remains around 73% below the cost of a domestic hire.

The calculator covers eleven commonly India-hired roles — customer support, executive assistant, medical billing and coding, bookkeeping and AP/AR, recruitment, marketing, design, QA engineering, financial analysis, and software engineering at mid and senior level — and reports in Canadian dollars, US dollars, pounds sterling or Australian dollars. The wage, the markup multiple, the domestic employer burden and the exchange rate are all editable.
